The Home Depot and Lowe’s recently launched their respective AI tools to provide personalized assistance in home improvement projects.
Home Depot’s “Magic Apron”
Home Depot is launching its suite of generative AI tools, named Magic Apron. The tools will help customers answer product and how-to questions and assist with home improvement projects.
“Home Depot customers have always relied on the expertise of our orange-aproned associates in the aisles of our stores to answer questions and help them solve problems,” says Jordan Broggi, executive vice president of customer experience and president. “Magic Apron is designed to bring that same expertise to the digital world, leveraging our proprietary knowledge base to support our customers and give them the confidence to tackle their home improvement projects, anytime, anywhere.”
Magic Apron will soon expand to the company’s Pro B2B site and in coming months, the tools will roll out new features and be accessible on homedepot.com.
Lowe’s “Mylow”
Lowe’s also recently introduced Mylow, its new AI tool. Developed with OpenAI, Mylow will deliver expertise to customers, including helping customers find and purchase the right tools for their projects and sharing how-to content.
“The development and introduction of Mylow exemplifies the tech-forward vision of the Lowe’s brand,” says Chandhu Nair, Lowe’s senior vice president of technology. “We’re doubling down with emerging technology collaborators like OpenAI to solve problems for our customers and because we want the home improvement experience at Lowe’s to be a cut above.”
